Default Side Mirror on a C5

The passenger side mirror on my C5 popped out...it is now loose and undriveable.
Has this happened to anyone....Can it be fixed or do I need to replace the entire mirror.
Thanks in advance for your response.

Jochen did a great how-to repair post that he submitted as a Tech Tip but hasn't appeared yet. Here's the thread. Not sure if your entire housing or just the mirror popped off - this is just for the mirror itself.

Here is some information I saved from a while back about a guy who does the repair for $60:

just read this in my new Issue#150 NCRS DRIVELINE March-April. This Guy will repair "your" mirror with the "broken clip" syndrome. "A permanent repair, guaranteed NOT to break" Send the complete mirror w/wiring harness, with ck or money order for $60.00 inc. shipping and handling. He offers a two day turn around after the mirror is received. He even offers by phone, mirror removal & installation instructions, ph# 330-783-0083 ext.15, after 4:30 pm 330-757-9466. Name & address: Ed H. Swaneck, 4030 Simon Road, Bordman, Ohio 44512.

If you don't mind it not folding in anymore, I have talked to some owners who just used some industrial strength epoxy(glue) and just glued it in place. They say it is solid as a rock...probably only cost a few dollars?

Dunno about the "cheap fix"..

Mine did that, had to get a whole new one from GM, painted and installed for $280

OUCH!!
Ed's the guy you want to send it to. He's done both of mine - at different times. Pull the whole tihing off and drive the car without them - be back in a week or so depending on shipping.
