My '02 Z06 has to sit outside for a while. Looking for recommendations on car covers for outside use, preferably best price/performance balance. THANKS.
I have a really nice $260 cover from the dealer that has never been out of the box. I'm still trying to figure out why I bought that. I think it is a Noah.
I have a "StormShield" cover. Works great and fits tight. Mine is garage kept. But GM did tell me that it's the best cover for all weather use. Cost me 290 though.

Covers made with the Noah brand fabric are very good quality covers, but I hope you didn't pay $260 for one. Even Mid America (Kings of the Corvette tax!) has them for under $150. You can find them on sale for around $120.

For the price, you can't beat the Noah covers!!
the noah fabric covers hard to beat for outdoor use...covercraft and wolf make great covers for $150 or less...mine has survived 2 hurricanes and many hail storms here in eastern north carolina....
I got the wolf cover about a month ago after some research here. My car stays outdoors all the time and so far it has worked we. The cover keeps the UV and debris off the car and doesn't build up moisture under it. I think I paid about $150 for the cover, cover bag and lock. I'm happy with my purchase
Some here will tell you that Brand A is best and others Brand B when in fact both brands may very well be made of the exact same fabric and sewn by the same manufacturer. Keep this in mind and you may save yourself some money and still get a very high quality cover.
Kimberly-Clark Corporation makes many of the fabrics that are used in today's car covers; i.e., the Block-It fabrics, Evolution, Dustop and Noah. Also, Nextec Applications, Inc. makes the Weathershield fabrics. Here are a few links that may help you in selecting a cover fabric that is right for you and your type use:
CoverCraft is the world's largest manufacturer of custom car covers and IMO, they make excellent covers. In addition to the CoverCraft brand, they also manufacture covers for a number of other companies who in turn sell these covers under their own brand label. A number of the Forum vendors here sell the CoverCraft Brand or covers made by CoverCraft. Here are a few CoverCraft links you might like to check out:

I've been looking for a good quality used car cover for around $100 for over a week now. Didn't find anyone that wanted to part with theirs. Then I clicked on the CF GP link and found out I can (and did) purchase a NOAH cover brand new for just a few $$ more!
From: I'm a Texan, but I traded the horse for the Vette.
Mine is a Stormshield, I've never had the time to actually use it though. I paid around $280 from "Zip" with including shipping. I'm selling it as we speak for less than the above mentioned.
Fit perfect, look good, and last a long time. The only thing I did to mine was add a couple grommettes in the front and rear edge to attach a couple small bungie cords for windy days.
I went with a Covercraft Weathersheild for $230 shipped from Autoanything.com. Best price i could find on the net. That one made the 4th i've bought from them.
Does anyone like the Evolution series from Kiberly Clark? Noah seems the most popular but evolution lists better ding protection.
Yes, I use a cover made from the Evolution fabric as it best meets my needs and I have been very pleased with it. The Evolution fabric is a thicker fabric than the Noah and it provides better ding and scratch protection. And, as my car is kept in the garage most of the time, this is what I am mainly looking for in a car cover. The Evolution fabric does however take somewhat more space to store when it is rolled up.
The Noah fabric is also an excellent fabric and I don't want to take anything away from it. However, it may or may not be the best fabric for your type use. You know best how you plan on using the cover. The two web sites I listed in my post above should help you in choosing a cover fabric that best meets your needs based on your intended use. Not a cover recommendation but a "when not to cover" recommendation. Only cover the car if the car is clean. If dirty, the cover can pick up the dirt and scratch the paint.
