Default Borla Stingers On

Woohooo, got my stingers on yesterday. I purchased the 2 tips. I was planning on doing it myself but needed to go and purchase a different jack and new jackstands, which I will still do.

I decided to call around and get pricing for shops to do it. I found a place that did it for $38 dollars and some change, yes thats right. Once place wanted $350 and was even a corvette specialty shop! WTF, I said I have the exhaust, you dont have to make one, they understood and was still that much.

Anyways, first impressions, I like the sound alot, smell the machine oil.

How long until they are "broken" in. They seem quieter than others that I have heard and zero drone cruising in 5th and 6th on the freeway which is what I wanted. (2001 coupe mn6)

So its been a good week, got the blackwing, hood seal and borlas installed this week.

Do you guys wax your tips? (exhaust)

thanks
Mike

Congrats on the stingers, they are Good thing you checked around on the price of installation. Some shops think just because it's a vette than can charge more= corvette tax. Sht for 350.00 you should be able to get Longtube headers installed

They will probably break in and get a tad louder after 100 miles or so. Good thing you have a 6 speed so you can adjust if you get drone..most get drone at about 1500 rpms.

Don't know about waxing the tips, I am sure some do.

Congrats! I bought mine about 1.5 years ago from a Corvette forum GP and I love them. I have an A4 and they drone sometimes, but I can live with it. I had a specialty vette place install them and the price was $100.00. A little more than I wanted to pay, but I had them on faster then me doing them. I will be lowering and painting the calipers within the next two weeks.

I got a quote of $300 or so when shopping for an install... I said thank you and hung up the phone! Got it done for $65 at a muffler shop.

As I seem to recall (when I had Stingers on), they get a little louder
after you run them a while. Put headers on, that will wake them and the
car up!

Congrats. I don't put wax on the tips of my aftermarket exhaust - I just use some Mother's Mag Polish on them.

I have the quad Borla Stingers on my car. I absolutely LOVED them (read: no drone) up until I put headers and high-flow cats on the car. Now I have drone at ~1500rpm when a slight load is placed on the engine. Other than that the sound with LTs is awesome .
