Mine was done in one peice as well. 2 years in the AZ heat and absolutly no problems. There's only one place I've gone to with 6 cars in 12 yrs it's http://arizonamountain.net/ these guys know there stuff.
ROB 99.........What grade would they do that with so as not to scratch the glass itself and the built in antenna????????
Appreciate all you owners' tips................
An installer in the Atlanta Area paints them. He goes to the third line down from the top and tapes evreything off and paints the top three semi-circle lines with black spray paint. He did mine and about 20 other C5 vettes in our club. Looks awesome from the outside (you cannot tell) and you have to have your head leaned all the way back and looking straight up to see it from the inside. It does not impare your rearview vision at all.
I was scared at first, but after a bunch of people in my club did it I went ahead and am so glad I did. That was the only thing keeping me from tinting the windows, those CHEEZY bubbles in the top of the back window.
Someone who is a skilled tinter would be able to do this. You only have to do the top three lines, not the entire dotted area. My recommendation would be to have the tint put on. Let it set and then go back and have the bubbled area removed and then taped off and painted. That's the way I did it. PM me if you want more info.

Hmmm, im not sure on the grade of paper, it was the black paper the kind you can use wet or dry very fine grade, i saw them doing it but didn't question them about the grade, BTW they used 3M tint and also did the one piece, when you find a installer you need to ask them about there installation procedures, and as far as the antenna don't think they sanded that down, i think thats inbedded in the glass itself anyway, can't check it now anyway cause the tint is over it. LOL
mine was tinted right over the dots. The guy that did it gave me something to press the tint in as it came loose over the next few days, so every day for about a week, I would press it down around the dots. It's been 2 years since then and the tint still on there perfect.
Mine was tinted by a guy in Jackson, Michigan that won a huge tint competition and has a trophy and you can still see the dots around them. No way would I sand or paint my sh_t! I'll just get them re-tinted until perfect. Mine are 5% all around and I want them darker so I'm going back to have them double it up.

Tint guy suggested 35% at the rear coupe glass and 20% at the windows....windows should match with the tinted top...........
The tint not sticking to the dots is common. My car is messed up also. The tinter, who I trust, said sometimes the tint sticks on Vettes, sometimes it doesn't. I've heard of sanding the dots, and putting vinyl up there. I would think the vinyl would restrict the view out the back window. I'd like to try sanding the dots. Good luck.

The vinyl will not restrict the view out of the back. It is above your eye line so you never see it from the inside and if the tint guy makes a good seam between the vinyl and the tint you will not see it from the outside either.
......The tint shop I used in Houston used an adhesive to help with the upper section. It's not a job for beginners. Get someone that has experience.......Good luck.......

This would be the vinyl like appliques, boat lettering etc. are made from?? How far down the glass did the installer go with the vinyl?? This sounds like a pretty painless solution......thanks..............

Yes, he only covered the dot matrix portion with it. The rest of the window is tint.

Exactly what I did. I used a microfiber towel to do the pressing. I did it on 3 different coupes and never had a problem with any of them.
