Vert Hoop Installation Cont.

In reading the various threads on this subject, one common problem was cutting the carpet to fit around the hoop posts. I decided to use a 2" washer from ACE Hardware (where you can still buy single pieces rather than the packaged stuff from the FatCats). I tried it first on the insulation and then on the carpet. It worked pretty good and I used the cut out pieces to patch little mistakes. It seems like the manufacturers of the hoops, considering the price they charge, would include a ring for the base...they could even charge $5 extra for each. So I don't get flamed for no pictures, see the following:
Put the insulaton in place, fold back and mark where the hoop base begins:

Place the washer where the cut is to start and use a box cutter to make the circle cut:

This is how it looks with the insulation. Actually you could use this as a template to cut the carpet.

Now do the same with the carpet. Notice the center of each hole should be 12" apart, or whatever your hoops measure.

The cuts are made and you have the extra pieces for any fill in needed.

The grand finale

Please feel free to email me for any details. Yes they won't protect you if you roll over, but I think they look great.

They were shown in a thread on the web about 3 months ago when they came out. You can get solid colors with C5 on the headrest or combinations with or without the C5. I thought the black trim added a nice touch again to add somthing a little different to the interior.
