As a final interior touch, for now these great headrests which I enjoy when cruising in the country or stalled in trafficthanks Tom Levy aka Tbone)

Well back in the "good ole days" 20-40 years ago I never hesistated to take dashs, radios, door panels etc off my car. That's when we only had one speaker in the middle of the dash and we all installed speakers in the doors and on in the rear with a "fader" control under the dash. But in the past 15 years there has been little of that. I saw the aluminum bezels in a number of pictures posted by CF members and really liked their looks. So I went to the ssinserts website and read their installation directions http://www.ssinserts.com/gage-install.htm. I couldn't believe you needed to start all the way back at the waterfall to get to the gauge cluster. But the directions were so good I decided to do it to start adding a little pizass to the cockpit. I got my gauges from SSInsers; quick delivery. I printed out the directions, but they were small pictures so I brought my laptop down and put it in the passenger seat and as I went from step to step I would enlarge the picute of which screw to remove, where to place the screwdriver and pry, etc. It went exceptionally smoothly. The hardest part was disconnecting the big plug to the back of the gauge cluster. Not much room to work and it is a big plug with a small plastic cover you use to pull on. But I didn't over react and stopped when I was a little frustrated and then came back and tried again. Otherwise keep good track of the screws and nuts you take out and just TAKE YOUR TIME THERE IS NOT HURRY. Take breaks as you go and as Ken's instructions say at the end sit back and enjoy how good it looks. Please email me if you have any questions at all. GOOD LUCK...DO IT.

Is that what "Lifetime Member" and 4 stars is for??? Only Kidding. Next on to some VE interior mods to complement the head rests...which I really enjoy while crusing and listening to Johhy C or Willie or stopped at a traffic light or traffic jam. I just put my head back and mellow out.

I honestly thought I could tell the difference just in doing the trunk. I went **** and plut little pieces in every nook and cranny. I think it is even better with the front done. To be honest the weather has been so nice here in Houstson, I've had the top down since doing all of this. I need to do a roady to San Anton or someplace with miles of concrete highway to see if it is better. But one thing I know, I had a '99 Vert and replace the OEM Goodyears with Michelin P/S and with no soundproffiing there was a world of difference. I can't see throwing away my '03 tirs with just 8000 miles and spending $1100 for a little quietness. But when the time comes I'm going to check CF and see what's new and what is quiet and then check Tire Rack's recommendations. But for now I'm glad I did it.
