I'm not going to say exactly which dealership because I'm going to give them one more chance to correct the problem. With that said, I've got to vent. I got an aftermarket extended warranty (CNA) which fixex problems with a $100 warranty of work over $1000. So far, within the past few months, the warrenty has been great. I've taken the car in about 4 times and work totalling up to around $6000. This is all good because my car is getting a refreshing. But now, looking back at the 4 visits, every time I take the car in for something, right after I get it back, I get something new that doesn't work in the car. The first time, my XM radio was fubared up and the antenna was stuck up. Got that fixed with some other things and then, the AC wouldn't blow cold on the drivers side. Took it in and told the service manager to have the guys be careful when they're in there because I don't want any more problems. Now, I pick up the car at closing time and drive away. Later, I put on my stereo and I notice that my subwoofer doesn't come on...my amp is not on at all; doesn't have any power to it. Pist off and driving for a bit, I get a "charge system fault" message. I press reset and everything seems fine. Man, I'm just so frustrated with this. I left a pretty irate message with the guy and am waiting for Monday (tomorrow) to raise hell at the dealership. Keep in mind that I'm paying for the deductables everytime except the first time I take it in.
I'm not one to be impatient and unreasonable, but I don't believe in coincidences. I've heard of shops doing things like this so that they can make money. This is a big dealership, so I'm not sure if this is some sort of conspiracy or if the techs there are utter and complete morons.
I'm going to end my rant here. I'll keep you guys updated on what he says on Monday about this. If it gets ugly, I'll release the name of the dealership and ask for assistance.
I had a $100 deductible on my last warranty. This time i made sure to get a $0. ded. Having to pay $100 4 times is a bummer. It wouldn't be so bad if you paid $0 4 times. Are you taking it to the dealer you bought your car & warranty at? Have you tried taking it to another dealership's service dept? Cause what it sounds like, it's the service dept and not the car.
It definitely sucks because the dealership is literally 5 minutes from my house. Plus, it's not GMPP, so I don't know if it'll be effective if I take it to someone else. The service manager told me in the beginning that the warranty company will have less trouble in approving a claim if we go through this dealership. I guess I'll have to test that theory somewhere else. He also told me that the same company fixed another service manager's car up to $18K and they "cut him off" after that. Having new parts on my car is cook, but I don't want that to happen.
Sorry to hear that you have all these issues. Wow, sounds like you need to go find another service department. I think it's ok if you want to blow off steam. As far as allowing forum members to get involved with your business, well I don't know about that. Personally, I like to handle my own issues. That's why we have better business bureues and sleezy lawyers. I'm sure you won't have trouble finding forum members to harass the dealership. Just my "rant".
It's not the dealership I bought the car from. I did not have many choices when looking for an auto warranty on a car with 70K miles. The first three times, I thought all this was because the car was too old. But this last one is no coincidence.
BTW, I noticed that your car is having electrical issues and you have some aftermarket electronics gear. The C5 has a fiber optic wire harness. Everytime you splice into that harness, you stand the chance of screwing up sometime. Just my opinion.
The XM radio was a simple case of a plug being pulled out and not replaced. The I'm sure that this stereo thing is also a simple case of the shop monkeys not being careful and unplugging the amp somehow.
I have driven the car 10K miles with the current stereo setup without ANY problems what so ever.
But what in the world does "charge system fault" mean?

Charge system fault generally means that the alternator is not charging very well or your battery is not holding a charge. Probably the former.
As to your orginal post, I wouldn't put it past any dealership in Houston, especially the Heard people to screw something up to get you back in. If it's Heard or Landmark, go somewhere else.
Many extended warranties are honored at independent shops. All of my extended warranty work was done at a independent who specializes in Corvettes. They did quality work, and everything was done right the first time! How about that! Try calling around to see who will honor your warranty besides the dealer. Good luck.
Anyone know of such an independent shop in Southwest Houston. I know of Corvettes of Houston and I have some trust in them, but they're just too far a drive from me.
