Need a good suspension shop in Irvine, CA
Hey guys. I got a 2004 Z06. I am not handy, so I need someone to lower and align my Z correctly. Any suggestions for Orange County, CA?
(I know about West Coast Corvettes.)

there's corvette mike's in Anaheim
but lowering the car is easy
heck, i did it with my friend and we know nothing about cars =)
you should align it about a week or so after lowering it anyway to let the car settle completely

how much are you lowering it? i've contemplated doing mine too (it really does sit high when stock), but after today, i changed my mind.
i was traveling along alicia parkway out in mission viejo and they chewed up the road for resurfacing (scraping off layers). not a big deal, right? that depends on how many layers they scrape off. i'm driving along around 30 mph with traffic in front, back to the left & right (i.e., nowhere for me to go) and i see a sewage/manhole sticking up about 4 inches. it appeared as the car in front went over it (the car was about 2 car lengths in front of me--i was driving a little slower). the road crews obviously scraped the living sheeyat off of that stretch of road!
there was nowhere (and i mean NOWHERE) for me to go, and if i romped on the brakes (which would have been easy for me to do to stop before going over it), the car behind me would definitely not have been able to handle the sudden braking. so i closed my eyes, envisioned the worst, and gently scrubbed about 5 mph off in speed by feathering the brakes. all i could envision was the front end ripping off, and the undercarriage peeling off like a sardine can.
luckily, i cleared it. how, i have no idea. then i roared into the next lane as fast as schumacher in an f1 car, before the next manhole cover approached. i'm sure i pissed off the car to my right rear as i barreled into the lane (their honking was evident), but that was the least of my concerns... if my car was an inch lower, it would have been a HEINOUS afternoon en route to mother's day brunch...

I had mine lowered and aligned at Corvette Mike in Anaheim. Very good and knowledgable people there. I don't take my 04 Z06 anywhere else. Hope this helps. Where abouts in Irvine are you?

It is not in Irvine, but West End Alignment in Gardena did my alignment and corner balanced the car, too. Most shops cannot corner balance the car, but after doing something like lowering the car, this is essential to make sure it handles as good or better than it did before. Corner balancing is what is done to make sure you don't have improper weighting on each wheel of the car. If the balance is whacked out, the car will tend to oversteer in one direction and oversteer in the other. West End did my custom spec'd alignment for $110, plus another $110 for the balancing, or $220 total.
West End is at (310) 808-9233
18008 S Vermont Ave
Gardena, CA 90247
You can ask for Darren. He does all the work. His son Chris helps him out, too.
He was referred by Jae Lee of Mirage Int'l in San Diego, another race alignment shop.
4. Merge onto I-405 N toward LONG BEACH.
5. Merge onto I-110 N toward LOS ANGELES. 1.2 miles
6. Take the CA-91 W exit. 0.7 miles
7. Turn LEFT onto S VERMONT AVE. 0.3 miles
8. End at 18008 S Vermont Ave, Gardena, CA 90247 US
