i recently got a 99 frc, and i've noticed that the headlights dim while breaking, and periodicaly while driving. the volt meter shows 14. something and drops a number while breaking. i just wondered if this is a problem anyone else has noticed. one thing which may affect it is that i believe the fan has been set to run about non stop.. i cant say what temp it comes on at, but the car runs pretty consistently around 194 deg.
Mine does the same thing. When I first had the problem I had the battery checked and it was going bad. Added a new one and the problem went away for a few days then came back. Don't worry about it.

Ground Points are corroded. Clean them all - there are 2 for the headlights.
The first is a little black box on the drivers side of the engine compartment next to the alternator and bolted to the frame. The other is on the passenger side between the battery and the engine under the plastic divider.
Also make sure that your alternator ground is clean - it grounds through the top pivot bolt.

Great information. I'l have to check those tomorrow as my headlights do the same thing.
Had same problem with my 98....on my car it turned out to be where the wires from the batt. and alt. hook up to the starter....the connections were alittle lose and the conectors were corroded...took them off the starter....cleaned with a wire brush and hooked back up tight.....no problems with the lights dimming since.
