I'm getting closer to header install time, and just read EG's post about the tunnel reinforcement. (Abs of Steel) Anyone else feel this makes a significant handling improvement? How much are they?

Read Elite Engineering's website for more endorsements from other CF members. I'm not the only one that loved this product. Small investment and major gain. Pull the trigger and give Jeff a call.
Installed these on both the Verts - IMO, well worth it.
Reduction in road noise, and more importantly, reduction in heat surrounding the consoles occurred (and I have insullated the floor and console, thanks to MikeMercury ).
My $0.02 - this is a cheap enough mod, and you will actually be able to 'feel/hear' the resulting benefits.

Those that have installed them and posted about it have really liked the way it made the car feel. Sounds like a good investment since you will be taking the exhaust loose anyway.

If you are having work done on you exhaust, installing our Tunnel Reinforcement plate is a snap. You will definitely feel a noticeable difference the best way a CF member described it “the car just seems tighter”. In addition to the added chassis stiffness, the coating will reduce the heat transfer into your console area. Take a look at our website for actual temperature data.
In all honesty, I might feel a little less heat in the passenger compartment due to the heat reflective coating, however we still haven't had a lot of really warm days here in western New York to really tell. Tighter car? Mine didn't have any squeeks or rattles to begin with, but now that I think about it, the RunFlats seem to sing a little louder this year. Coincidence...or not??

"Tighter" as in "Unified", not so much about squeaks and groans. When you slam you car like I have, every little imperfection in the pavement manifests itself much more magnified that a stock ride height Vette.
My car feel Unified now. I no longer get the torsional twist I could feel on uneven pavement and it corners much flatter.
All this with just Bilstein Sports on all 4 corners. Same stock Run Cr@ps, stock FE1 springs and sways with rubber endlinks.
If it's that dramatic with just the AOA, then when I upgrade my springs to Z06 springs (next week), Hotchkis sways with heim endlinks (after the Cruise In) and finally dump the Run Cr@ps, I expect my car to corner completely flat and to feel like it's on rails.

<edit> I should add that I drive like this...

I installed a tunnel reinforcement plate and I am not so sure it was all that much of a change. If anything, it would be a slight change, nothing major. My .02 says if you are looking at a clutch swap, then , I might recommend that someone go ahead and do the mod "while they are in there" . Otherwise, forget it.
