Default Headers have been a nightmare (sorta long)

I'll try to relate this chronologically to keep everything in perspective.

I bought the headers from Jet-Hot. I took them to a local tuner for installation and the fitment and alignment was off enough that the slip-fit installation left me with a serious leak and terrible mis-alignment in the back at the tail pipes.

I emailed Jet-Hot (not hostile) and included pictures to help them determine how to keep it from happening again. Meanwhile I had flanges installed to replace the slip-fit and finally got everything aligned to where it looked good again and the leak fixed.

Continued to get a 'Check Engine' light so left it with a technician for diagnostics. Diagnostics brought the conclusion that the air tube on one header was clogged. Technician could not push a wire through the tube.

Called Jet-Hot customer service and asked that they allow me to send only the right header back (at their expense), have their manufacturer replace the air tube, re-coat the header and send it back to me (remember, I've already had this header flanged). That was 2 hours ago and I'm still waiting to hear back from Jet-Hot at this moment.

Anyone else have this much fun with their headers?

No problems with Dynatech's headers here - see my write up on page 1.

A story like that one makes me glad that I stuck with one of the big 2 (KOOKS, LGM) when selecting my headers.

I was looking at their ad in Corvette magazine and I was thinking how good a deal it was. Oh well. I'm really sorry you are having this problem and I'm equally glad is wasn't me.

i had the same problem when my mechanic tried to install some jethot headers i ordered a few weeks ago. they didnt fit at all. luckily c5 at the shop was removing his KOOKS headers and was in the process of selling them. i snatched those up and gave jethot a call to return the headers. they are sending a return kit wednesday to pick up the headers.

Default Header problem....YEP!

Bought some headers through a friends website. Had S**** T*** put them on. They busted my rocker panel and denied they did it. They did not bother to check the fit and proximity to the starter.....Melted my starter....Had to go somewhere else after replacing the starter to get it covered.
