My 97 C-5 needs help. In the morning when I first start the car, I have a hard time getting into any gear. I do not want to gring gears but some times I have no choice. As the car warms up, the shifting problem improves to a point that you could think you never had aproblem. I also notice that the clutch seems nimble at times and then it might stay all the way to the floor. I tried pumping and it does not help. When the car is warm, I can start and go like nothing ever happen with the clutch. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

mine used to do the same thing and as it's gotten older the clutch sticks less and less, actually i dont think it's stayed to the floor in quite a while.
if i'm not mistaken they did a recall on all earlier models slaves and replaced them .. not sure what years it went from though and i doubt it'd be covered since yours is a 97 and most likely out of warranty .. so maybe a z06 slave might be the key
Is it a particular gear? It may be the slave as mentioned-
or in my case on cold mornings, 3rd gear would grind. It was the synchros. I replaced the 3rd gear synchros, and now even on cold startup in -10 degree weather, no grinding.
When I got mine it was a pain to get into reverse, I'll usually go into third then reverse takes easily but I hate forcing it in. Now I hear second gear doing something strange, while I drive as I downshift with the clutch in it makes a noise like something is catching up to the motor's revs, I think it's the syncros but I don't know for sure.
