This question is for your guys that have Warranty Direct. I have a 2003 MN6 coupe. I was getting ready to start modifying my car by installing a new intake, exhaust and getting an LS1 update. I decided to call Warranty Direct to see if any of these mods would void my warranty. I was informed by them, after speaking with the claims department, that any modifications done to my vehicle would result in my warranty being voided. I can't believe that a new intake and exhaust would void my warranty, is this true or did this person just not know what they were talking about?

E-T has a clearer understanding, but from what I know, the mod has to be determined to be the source of the part failure.
I have WD and the only thing I was warned about was installing a SC which would void the engine and tranny warranty. I can see this being possible, but I doubt only the intake and exhaust being modded would/could be shown to be the source of resulting damage to the engine's internal parts.
I have Warranty Direct and I have never had problems with them. I've had warranty work done to my Vette and they gave me no hassels. Most of my Mods are GM performance parts, except for a few odds and ends. Just don't go advertising to them about your mods. Good luck.

I recently bought a warranty from Warranty Direct (back in December) and when the inspector came out, he clearly saw that I had a Blackwing and B&B exhaust on the car. Did not say a word about it voiding any warranty and they sold me the policy. If they tried to void a warranty for a claim now, I would not go peacefully. Personally, I do not see why the warranty would be void if that part did not cause any of the problems.
This question makes me go hmmm... I was thinking about getting BnB Rt 66, but now I have to think again to see if ext warranty will be voided or at least have to read the contract again tonight... Or cancel the contract and use the money for the mods...
I bought a W-D policy for my '98 last May. The inspector came out to my home & inspected my car. It had (has) a Blackwing and B+B exhaust. The guy not only visually inspected the total car, but photographed it (including the engine bay) as well. He could not, nor could the camera, have missed the mods I installed. The next day I rec'd an email from W-D stating I had been approved for the coverage on the car. Go figure.....
