Default Info on hard wire radar detector

Hi all.

I want to hard wire my radar detector by the rear mirror.

I would like it to be a positive acc. (when the key is out, the radar shuts off auto)

Where can I get that from in the fuse panel on the passengers side?

This may be something like what you are looking for. It actually plugs into the mirror connector and is not hard wired to the fuse panel.

Yes.

It also shuts off if a door is opened with the car running.

I've got one from Team Speed and use it on my V1.

Talk to him carefully about what sort of mirror you have. Some have the standard mirror, which his cord is NOT made for. Others have the Chromatic (sp?) mirror and his cord was designed for them.

I have the standard mirror and it works...but it's a little funky. I have to turn on the Radar Detector every time I shut the car off. It won't come back on by itself. TeamSpeed told me I might have such a problem so I can't blame him for the "bug".

You also have to splice the wire going into the mirror if you have the standard mirror.

I have the connector from teamspeed, and the electro chromatic mirror. It's a great setup. I use the bracket from great lakes trophy, and I don't know how you could get a better arrangement. Radar is off if car is off or door is open. I don't know about non electro mirrors.
Good luck.
Steve.
