Hey guys, along with my news wheels come chrome lug nuts. I previously had the steel lug nuts and plastic covers with wagon wheels. What does everyone use to keep from damaging the chrome when working on the wheels? Is anyone using this socket?
I use a normal Craftsman 19mm socket and have not hurt any ot the lugs nuts. I bought McGard chrome lug nuts abut 18 months ago and they show no damage at all and I change them ever time at the track.
I've been using chrome lugnuts on cars for 20 years...never recall damaging one from a normal socket. I suppose you could damage the plating with an impact wrench...but we'll assume you are smart enough not to do that.
