I was getting ready to order some more Zaino stuff this morning. I emailed them this morning to ask if I could return the Z2 additive I bought that I had never used. My cell phone rings at work and it's one of the Zaino brothers. He was very nice and goes into a long explanation of why I should keep it, how to use it, why to use it, etc. I'm impressed that a company takes the time to call someone over something that was 20 bucks.
It wasn't the Z2, which I love. It was the additive (forget the name) that you mix with it to speed the "wax on, wax off" time. I'll do a poor expalnation, so check it out at Zaino.com.

I would guess it was the ZFX. This stuff mixes with the Zaino and speeds the drying process. If you are into multiple coats of say Z2. You can mix a batch of this with it and it will allow you to put 3 coats on in a single session (about 30 minutes in between) vs. the 24hrs. they recommend normally between coats.

AH HA!! That's it! I told him I was under the impression that it had to be used the first time you used the Z2. He told me it can be used anytime, regardless of the number of coats that were on the car. Essentially, it will enhance the gloss.
I have been polishing my Vettes and other cars for over 30 years. Used Zaino on one of them until it ran out. (followed directions exactly). Spoke to Hal several times. They sure have a following. I tested others against Zaino and found that Mequiars Gold Class is as good. Only one product type to use, easy on easy off and a lot less expensive. I have won many shows with Meguiars- staying with it, period. Let the flames begin.
I use Zaino and have never used the ZFX. I use the Z1 then the Z2 or Z5 then back to the Z2. And the Z6 spray inbetween coats. I don't mine waiting for it to dry and putting on another coat a couple of days later. I don't think you should use the Z2 without one the the products Z1 or ZFX. They are the products that make a chemical bond and this is what makes the product last as long as it does.

No flame here, If you are happy Good for you. This thread happens to be about Zaino.
i have meguires .. its good, but ill go a round of zaino purely because if i see excellent service , its to be rewarded ...and there are enough votes out there to know its not a waste to do so
Well....with all said....we just like our vettes as shiny as can be. Some like one thing, others like something else. I was just really impressed that I got a call. I can only imagine that the Zaino guys have thier hands full. To personally contact a customer is top knotch business sense. He actually went on and on and on about how to use it.
I've never been much of a "wax the car" kinda guy. I really have nothing to compare anything to. I picked up my Zaino "starter" kit when there was a big purchase. I've enjoyed using the stuff. I may try another brand with this batch runs out, just to see if I can tell the difference.
