Default Removing passenger panel

In the passenger footwell area, there is a plastic panel (located just below the glove box; the passenger side courtesy light is attached to this panel); can someone explain to me how to remove the two round plastic fasteners used to hold this panel in place?? The manual refers to these fasteners as push in retainers but fails to explain how to remove them!

I can turn mine but I can't seem to figure out how to get them to unfasten...thanks!!

Grab a hold of the panel (as close to the fastener as possible) and pull straight down. They're a little flexible. Try the one closest to the door first. Then the one closer to the console.

Wow, you're kidding right?!!

So no special tool required or turning/twisting/pulling to get the fastener to "pop" off...I have never seen this kind of fastener before...

Thanks for the tip, I will give a try...

This is the method. Like described, get as close to the fastener as you can. They'll just pop out.
