Default 02 Sensor Question

Well, I got my x pipe back from the folks at KOOKS Custom Headers today.

If you recall, the driver's side catalytic converter went bad. I sent the x pipe back to them and they cut the old cats off and installed two new ones.

Problem is, they installed the cats in such a way as the O2 bungs point downward now instead of upward towards the tunnell. This means that while I can put the sensors back in, they now point downward. And you cannot turn the x pipe upside down and get it to work. I thought about sending it back but just said the hell with it, as the car has been down for a week already. So I bolted everything back up.

Since I have my rear o2s edited out, its not really a problem so I just disconnected the sensors at the harness.

Now I need to plug the holes in the x pipe. Or else its like running cutouts. Loud.

What size bolt with what type threads can I use to plug the 02 sensor bungs in the x pipe? I checked my local Home Depot and they didn't have anything even close.

I'm not totally sure...but I think 02 sensor threads are 18mm. I've heard of people finding oil pan drain plugs in that same thread size

If you have the sensors out...take one to an auto parts store, they should have some plugs in that thread size.

Thanks guys

An oil drain plug did it. Advance auto parts. Part nbr 65210

5/8" (1,6 cm)-18 oversized.

This plug is tapered at it's end and has four slits cut about 1/4 of the way down. This bolt snugs down perfectly.
