I'm on day 4 of owning my 2003 blue Z06. I bought her with 4, 096 miles. She is in perfect condition and I'm enjoying it so very much. I must say, this car has some very great power. I do have a couple of questions for you guys if you don't mind.
1. Is there a way to disable the gear skipping? I noticed that you can not go into second or third when you have reached over 15mph, you must go directly to 4th gear.
2. What type of air intake do you recomend me getting?
3. Does anyone have a K&N? If so, what are your opinions about it?
Here are a few snap shots of her right out of the dealership, enjoy!
The CAGS is the culprit on your shifting.
There is a writeup somewhere on here to disable it for a $1 - you unplug it and stick a resistor in its place. Or for $20 something you can buy a pretty plug that has the resistor in it.
I have the Vararam on my coupe and just did a Ziptie mod on the Z. Got the same SOTP feel from both of them.

Why do you want to change the air filter? Are you looking for more HP, will you get a computer/dyno tune also?
The CAGS eliminator will take care of the skip-shift. You can get a K&N drop-in filter for the stock air box, or add one of the many cold air intakes made for the car. Some of the more popular are the Halltech Stinger (or the TRAP model), the BPP Vortex Rammer (one that I have), the Vararam, or the Blackwing.
Next you'll be wondering which kind of catback to get then headers... it's never ending!
