do I need to go through that whole procedure of filling the coolant back?
or can I just poor in the dex-cool with water (50-50 mix), start the car for 5 minutes, then top off one more time ???
I would go through the whole procedure if you completely drained the coolant. If you only lost a little coolant, just top it off with a 50/50 mixture. BTW, what thermo did you use? Do you notice any differences?

well i finally gone about and finished the swap...followed the whole procedure.
everything went really smoothly and it was easy, except i couldn't get the hose clamp back on (the type that you squeeze with a pliers, i couldn't open it wide enough to slip it over the hose, so instead i used a regualr garden hose clamp that you screw on)
anyway, i used the PowerStat 160* thermostat and got it from www.corvettegarage.com or WCC (forget which one)
driving through traffic, temps were around 170-180 degrees
i already had my tuner adjust the fan settings way back (in anticipation of me getting a thermostat soon) to the settings that powerstat recommended.......
so now my question is, do i need to adjust anything else? any type of re-tune or whatever to utilize the new thermostat?
You have any link to the install instructions? What's this whole thing about draining and re-filling the coolant? My beter truck got a stuck T-stat and messed up so when replacing it I added a 180 vs. the stock 19X and I immeadiately noticed cooler temps on the guage. I'm thinking about adding a 178 to the vette. Then when I get a tune I can have the can settings lowered accordingly.
