Default Electronic ghost?

I just got my cvette back from the Chevy dealer, they replaced the alternator.
Then I noticed for the first time ever the oil can symbol is in the HUD display, however oil life is 81% and pressure is fine, is this a glitch like I am assuming it is?

You should not have a problem. To make the oil can go away, just press and hold the topmost button on the HUD Cluster (cannot remember what it says, but just above the sliding switch controlling the brightness of the HUD). You can make the HUD display almost any variety of information combinations.

Doesn't anyone ever read the owner's manual?

The HUD can be paged through a number of modes exhibiting various
monitoring systems such as MPH, RPM, oil pressure, etc.

Push the little button on the left side of the dash to page through.

Nope I am from a generation that never reads owners manuals, I figure out computers/tv/electronics by mashing buttons, I just didn't have time to mash my HUD buttons yet. Plus, the chevy dealer didn't know what it was, so I figured it was something more than a simple cycle of display options.

Just tap the "page button" it switch from oil to fuel to water. Hold the "page" down for 3 seconds and the stuff appears and disappears.

No, not a glitch. It just is a different display that can be shown on the HUD. To change it to another option, just push the page button.
