Default Help Driver Side Door Power Mirror Install

I came out of work the otherday into the parking lot and found the passenger side mirror of my C5 dangling by the power mirror cable..
How do you reinstall this? I have tried compressing the spring that is held on by some type of washer to no avail, anyones help would be greatly appreciated.. It is currently taped on.. HELP!!!

I suspect you're going to have to replace the mirror. In any case, here are the basic steps necessary. You'll probably need more than this, but let me know what detail you need. I can fax you the procedure(s) out of the GM repair manual, but I need to know which ones you need. Do you just need the mirror install or do you need the door trim panel and connectors data sheets too?

1) Lower power window.
2) Remove door trim panel
3) Remove the door speaker assembly
4) Remove the mirror nut access plugs.
5) Disconnect the electrical connections
6) Disconnect the mirror harness from the retainers.
7) Remove the nuts from the mirror studs
8) Remove the mirror with the harness and gasket

Installation procedure

1) Position the mirror with the gasket and harness to the door
2) Install the nuts to the mirror. Tighten to 89 lb in.
3) Route the harness and secure the harness with harness retainers.
4) Connect electrical connections
5) Install the mirror nut access plugs
6) Install the door speaker assembly (22 lb in)
7) Connect speaker connections
8) Install Door trim panel.

Default Thank You

Hey thanks guys, Dustie, I think this is the fix, yes, the glass mirror didn't fall off, rather it was the complete housing for the mirror, the base plate is still attached to the car.
I guess I will find out just how handy I am, what a pain, I didn't realize the mirror was held on in such a fashion. Hopefully I will be able to get the inner door panel off without too much problem and I won't scratch up the mirror or car doing this procedure. I probably helped this mirror housing itself fall off, by not being extra careful when pulling the car cover off.
