Default Time To Sound Off!

Why do members in this site constantly add useless posts to other members asking questions for help?
Could it be the number of posts one is trying to accomplish - like it is some badge of greatness. When in fact all it does is slow both the poster and others interested in answers or advice.
An example is someone posting a question and the next 5 to (fill in number) post an ignorant and useless post with, "anyone" or a smiley face.
How about the forum administrators opening a new category for all the wash women and people posting only characters! We could call it USELESS MEMBERS CONTRIBUTIONS! And, to make it really special the forum administrators could make 1 posts equal 100 posts.
I think this would make the forum more efficient for people trying to find answers to their concerns.

Dude - have another cup of coffee. Its a forum...you start putting these kind of restrictions and we are going to lose some fo the fun. I for one, like to scroll and see what people post. Doesn't take that long, and I've found you can usually get substantive answers to your question in the first couple of responses anyway.... lots of humor in a lot of the responses. Have a great day

This forum is a conversation, a sharing of information, a dialog. Threads come and go. They die after a while. No harm in ANYONE adding to a conversation (whether it is relavent or not). Makes for interesting reading. Sometimes the comments and "emoticons" are the best part.

PS - why are you posting this in C5 general?? What does it have to do with C5's??? There is an "off-topic" forum. Your "rant" belongs over there! I'll be the first to invite you to visit O-T. Its a friendly bunch of folks over there that will be understanding and sympathetic to your feelings.

See you in O-T.

Part of what makes this forum fun is hearing opinions, rantings, useful posts as well as people having a good time!

Better make that decaf big fella..If you are looking for specific information - use the search function. This is a community not a library. Vette drivers don't always speak in whispered tones.

Maybe people who post "Anyone" are trying to keep the post alive until someone who has the answer can respond!

This forum has been extremely helpful to me with my C5 and LT4 before it. It's saved me a ton of aggrevation and money. The good thing is I can say stupid things and ask stupid questions once in a while and nobody ( well, almost! ) cares. It's a family, neighborhood, sportsbar atmosphere, and an excellent reference for tech and parts all wrapped up in one.

I think this forum has a great flow of ideas and information... and the tone is 99% positive and encouraging. The little quick responses are a part of that. You know, little affirmations.

I think the coolest thing is that people support each other even when they're doing mods that they're not fans of -- there's just no nasty-attutude judging in this community.

I couldn't have said it better myself. There are people from all walks of life here and as many different ways to contribute to the forum. I think most of us celebrate that fact and put up with the little things that annoy us. And we hope you can find it in yourself to do so.

Are you just mad you dont have many posts!?!? .. Just kidding.. but I see your point.. I mean if your posting pictures of your car.. then what you say would be sufficient.. bc there is no need for an answer of a problem. But when people post "useless" stuff when someone is asking for a problem.. I can see why they would be possibly upset.. look at it this way.. it gives a TTT for ya for free so maybe someone who knows WILL SEE IT and help ya out
