I'm looking to buy my first C5 and found a 1998 convertible with less than 5000 miles.
It is white with a white top. If I buy a white car it has to have a black top.
My first question, is there anyone on this forum who has installed a new soft top?
I have had them installed on older vettes but it is hard to find someone you can trust to do a good job. I would rather do it myself.
If anyone has done it I would like to hear from you.
My second question, is there any chance someone within 100 miles of southeast Pennsylvania with a mint black top be interested in trading for a mint white top? In this case we would switch top and frame. I know this is a long shot but worth an ask.
I wouldnt worried about the color of the top to much. Mine spends most of the time in the truck. The only time I have the top up is the winter. But then again, mine is not a daily driver.

Who cares what color the top is when it is properly stowed in the down position? (okay, I admit, mine is mostly a dry weather car) I have no idea how difficult it would be as a DIY project, I'm contemplating having mine redone, hopefully with slightly better material.

I saw a white C5 with a white top last week and think they look good! But a 98 with less than 5000 miles, I would jump on that right away, no matter what color top.
hello and welcome....... i replaced my top with Mid-America. cost me less than half of what the dealer wanted. i would advise to "get er done"( apologies to Larry the cable guy) professionally, unless you got skills. the install was about 300.00, still made out great!
