COPS! We Were Surrounded!
Two More Photos Added - Wednesday Morning
Charlotte, NC's Queen City Corvette club went on a road trip to St Augustine, FL this past weekend. We left Friday morning and drove through light and heavy rain most of the day but arrived in St Augustine safely as the weather cleared and the sun came out.
We had too many cars for a single caravan so we split into three groups with Carol and I in the last group. (Note to self - next time get in the first group - they had more time to relax at the destination)
We rejoined at HOOTER's in south St Augustine. Here are some of the cars and members.
We were all inside HOOTER's relaxing when someone shouted "The COPs Are Here!" And sure enough, there were two cars and some motorcycles out in the parking lot by our Vettes.
As it turned out, our Social Director and Membership Director and Automotive Event Director had arranged a Police Escort for the club through the streets of St Augustine from HOOTER's to our hotel at the beach.
This was probably the most fun Carol and I had with our clothes on in a long time. A whole caravan of Corvettes with a Police Escort. Two cars in front of us and motor cycles stooping traffic at the intersections and then roaring ahead once we had passed one intersection to stop traffic at the next one.
I heard one kid yell out "Look at all the Corvettes!" but I am sure his father was thinking "$#*@# Corvettes slowing me down on the way home".
Talk about PERMAGRIN! This was a PERMAGRIN Moment!
A great weekend was had by all.

Jane, in the Vette ahead of us just sent me these two photos of my car with the Duck Tape flapping in the breeze.
Carol & I are still grinning from this trip.
Corvette Clubs Are Great!

The first photo shows a silver job with a black rear panel... I think it looks very sharp. Am I correct is assuming a custom paint job, or is it from GM & I haven't run across it? I'd like to try the same thing on a torch red, any ideas or comments on this?

Here is my 15 year old son with the car at a recent show.
And another view of the back.
I copied another car I saw with the black butt and there are several others around the Forum.
I think yours would look good with a black butt and red letters to match your paint. Black butts sure do show dirt though!

I saw your cars as we took a stroll down A1A from Jax to Daytona for dinner Saturday. You guys were all parked in a nice row at 1 of the tourist areas. Hope you had a good visit. Today's weather was better than yesterday's.
