Default [DIC Message] Act Hndlg Warming Up

WTF? My car started telling me this today......3 out of the 4 times I took it out for a ride.

Anybody seen this before? I never have.....and trust me.....in the 100+ degree heat here nothing needs to "warm up".

One of the times I had it out I drove it for 30 miles.....then it finally said "wamup complete"????

Help!!!!!!!

Previous posts have said if you turn the wheel within 10 to 15 feet from a stopped position you may get this message. This is normal. Are you parking your car in a slightly different place than usual, and have to turn the wheel to get out of that position?

Hmmmm......interesting.....

I noticed it does come on as I'm pulling out of my driveway.....so it does match that condition.

However.....obviously I've done that hundreds or thousands of times and it's never done it before. Weird. The only thing I can think of is that I did change the oil this weekend.....so it was up in the air.....and I know weird things happen when jacking these cars......

Mine's done it a couple of times. Once was after a stop at a gas station with a couple of turns and moves (the first pump didn't work, so I had to go to another one), and the second time was after a stop, then started and drove a very short distance and stopped again with several turns in between. I think it gets fooled with the mismatched wheel rotations caused by turns in a short time.

This is just too weird. It just decides to start doing this "normal" behavior all of a sudden. Maybe it was just broken before and fixed itself......

I've had that happen twice in the 8 mths and 2500 miles since I bought my CE Z06 new. However both times the msg went away almost as fast as it appeared. I can't inagine it is anything to get concerned about unless the msg won't go away.

Happened again this morning.......took 12 minutes for it to say "warmup complete" and for the AH dummy light to finally turn off. There's gotta be something not right here......

And this time I was very careful backing out of my driveway.....backed a good 50 feet in a straight line. Then as soon as I turned the wheel to go down the street it came on (to go out 12 minutes later as I described above).

Ideas?????

I think you should PM Patches he may be able to help you out. I agree with you this shouldn't be happening this often. But now you know it's related to the turning of the wheel. There must be something connected to the power steering that's not quite right. Maybe you could check the fluid level. Good luck with it. And keep us posted for sure I am sure we would all like to know what the outcome is.

Mine does the same thing every day when I am leaving the parking ramp after work. I think it has something to do with the fact that when I leave the 3rd floor of the ramp there is a lot of turning and braking at the end of each level of the ramp. About half way down the ramp the message comes on for a few seconds.
