I took the car to Gm and the tech told me all the weatherstriping had to be replaced. They said the window warped the w/s. Has anyone had this problem? They said it would be 975.00 to fix it. If I have to replace it, I will just do it myself. I found the parts for around $150.00 GM. The leaks are at the drivers window and the passenger side. On the drivers side, it looks like the glass goes above the w/s and I have a gap on the pass side. One day it was fine and the next day it was leaking like a @$%#*.
The windows can be adjusted to more closely fit the weatherstrip. In order to do it properly, the door panels must be removed, and it takes lots of patience.
Can you post some pics of the weather stripping? The windows must have been out of adjustment for quite awhile to ruin the stripping. If in fact it is ruined. I'd adjust the windows properly before I put money out for stripping. My .02
First off I just have to say "I LOVE the C5R kit!"
Welcome to the wonderful world of the "self washing seats" option. A couple days after I bought my 98 Vert I found out that mine had a slight leaking problem as well.. and that the seats can hold quite a bit of water when they "look" dry I pulled up the history on my car and it's been a problem since day one. They've replaced the weatherstrip, adjusted the doors and the windows more than once but it still leaks. I got one of those thick waterproof covers for the top but it's a real pain to put on/remove in the rain. So.. now my car has it's own bath towels - red of course. I put one on the side of each seat to soak up the water. It doesn't happen every time, only about 20% of the time and I'm not sure why.
It would be very hard to see with a pic it's hard to tell in person. I think I will try to adj the window first.
Thanks

From: Biloxi MS Theres something happenin' here, What it is ain't exactly clear.....
and I think those screws will make since once you view em.
THe plug on the uderside of the door and closest to the front tire controls the front edges of the glass and I think the one behind the reflector handles the back half.
There will be two screws and I can't recall if they are torx or socket.. either way, they are "stacked".. You loosen one, in order to turn the other.. (the 2nd screw is what adjusts the window.. )
ok -Im gonna dig and find the REAL instructions for adjusting the windows before I send yall donw the wrong path!
Mine started leaking a bit and I thought it was the weather stripping. Took it to the dealer and they told me the top needed to be adjusted, which I already knew since the top rubs the deck lid on the two rear corners. Just wondered why it hadn't leaked in about the year that I'd had it. Anyway, this isn't covered under warranty (of course) but there is a service bulletin out on this.
I went to two more places and both told me to replace the w/s. Its sucks I got it from GM parts direct. Thanks for the help. I will still need to adj the window.
