There is a very nice, clean looking, low mileage 1998 item number 4550910561 on eBay at "buy now" $21,000 with no bids. Anyone have an idea why? Am I missing something?
The whole point of e-bay is to list an item below retail and have a bidding process, not to list it at retail. Should have started the bidding no higher then 15k
I tend to disagree with the low balling on older C5's. Just because my 97 mn6 has 53k miles, if i were to sell it I'm sure i could get at least 22k for it seeing it looks BRAND NEW!

In no way meant to be offensive, but if you can get 22k for a 97 with 53k on the clock quit whatever job you have and sell cars....you'll make $500,000 a year with those car selling skills!!
My father-n-law just sold his 98 with 55K for $25K so it can be done if you find the right buyer. The guy was happy to pay it b/c it was clean and the car he wanted. I know it was high but people will pay extra for a nice clean car.

agreed.......most people will pay more for what they want. keep in mind that a Vette would be considered with more passion than most machines would be,therefore, most people wouldnt mind paying more, if the machine fits their dreams!! like mine

Unless they find an equally nice car for less money.

With both whats been said about eBay on people looking for the lowest price. I also agree with ls1vette97 on lowballing. Certainly a lot of C5's out there for sale, but if you find the right buyer and the C5 is quality....its like anything else, some people are willing to pay premium and be happy with it.
I purchased my red '97 in March down in SC for $18,000... it was (and is) immaculate with 51,000 miles ... it had a couple of extra features, but remained stock. I couldn't be happier with it, I feel like I stole the thing. I had a thought the other day... I could by two more (and get a red-white-blue combo!) for the price of ONE new C6 !... not a bad deal!

i geuss the real question here would be: if and when you are ready to part with your Vette, are you going to sell it for a lowball price ? answer honestly.....

Actually, the Buy It Now is $21,800. Also, the car does not have dual-zone AC or a CD changer and it has base, non-memory seats, so it's not very well optioned. The base seats would put me off... I much prefer sports seats. Also, if you look carefully, it looks like the driver's seat bolster is worn.
