Default doors

Hi,
I just wanted to know what the inside of the corvette doors are made of. The part I am talking about is the place where the door hinges are screwed. My friend is thinking about getting vertical lambo doors, but the shop says that he cannot weld anything that is fiberglass. Are these fiberglass or something else?

Thanks

no there not fiberglass, c5's use sheet molded composite, I'm not sure though how they re-enforce the inside of the door, aluminum comes into play at some point or another I believe

The door and body panels should be SMC. The C5 rolling chasis shot below might help the body shop. The shot that another member posted in the northeast section should help prove to them it can be done anyway.

well........one thing is for sure, if your bud goes with the lambo doors, make sure its the kit built exclusively for the Vette. if its a modified kit for another car, they will have issues!! i have seen it,and it looks great, but there all kinds of kid glove ways you have to handle the opening/closing, and that aint cool
