I will be replacing warped brake rotors on my 2000 vert and noticed that GM specifies that the caliper bracket bolts cannot be re-used. Can these be purchased on line or do I have to go to the dealer? Are they something the dealer normally stocks? Does anyone have part numbers? Thanks for the help.
Maybe try gmpartsdirect.com. I just go to the dealer for this type of thing...but be prepared. They charge like crazy. $8 for two bolts for the lower shock mount
Doing a rotor swap this week as well, called both local dealers parts depts. to get new bolts, both said not an item they stock? I asked off the record is that because everybody just reuses them and was told yepper.
I replaced my rotors two weeks ago, used lock tite but didn't clean the caliper bolts....now when im driving over a rough road, or hit any bumps it sounds like something is rattling..... I was going to take them apart this weekend and investigate. Maybe I need new caliper bolts?

I've had the dealer reuse them before, but the last time I switched rotors I had them install all new ones. Went to the dealer and they of course had to order them. If you have a large dealer nearby, they may have them in stock.
What happens to them is they get metal fatigue. They're under a good bit of torque and after you've taken them off and on a number of times, the chances of them twisting or breaking increases. Naturally, you don't want something like that happening with your brakes.
But you don't need to change them every time you change your rotors. That advice wasn't made for people who change them as much as most of us do.
About every third change, I'd be looking for new bolts. Reusing them a couple of times is no big deal.
On another vehicle (NOT a vette), somehow the bottom bolt got cross threaded and stripped out completely.
HUM? Then what to do. - so drilled a hole through the head of the bolt and a hole on the cast mounting, then used aircraft 'safety wire' .032 ga, an did a real nice 'hold it in place' with stainless safety wire fix. Also put some red locktite on it.
That was 50,000 miles ago and not a single issue. The bolt has not budged. It's the shear strength of the bolt, not how much torque is on it - well to a degee, so that the bolt doesn't back out.
All the airplane guys will understand this - dumb, yes, but it works
