Just ordered ss inserts, and the advice seems to be to make sure the area is cleaned properly. Is regular alcohol ok to use or does it have to be de-natured alcohol? I don't know what the difference is, but I can't imagine it would be that big of a deal. I have multiple coats of Zaino on if that matters.
Thanks.
I cleaned really well with mineral spirits and then regular alcohol. Be sure to use the adhesive stuff ( forgot the name of it ) before applying the letters. hat stuff makes the adhesive really stick. I waxed the area after they were installed. I've had zero problems!!

I've never had the SS inserts on my car, but I have had vinyl and now epoxy ones on there. I just used rubbing alcohol and cleaned the area really well. Not had a problem with them sticking. If the letters come with some kind of adhesive promoter, use it of course.
Just a note, be careful with finger pressure on the s/s pieces, they bend VERY easy. Also the "E"'s come two piece, the center can be trick to put straight and you only get one chance if they get stuck without bending them. Good luck!
FYI: If you got SS Inserts for the front plate cover, there's a trick to applying the 'V', as there's a angle in the cover at that point. Leave the 'V' in it's plastic wrapper and put it in it's place on the plate cover to see where the angle should happen, then gently use a pair of pliers to bend the letter. The wrapper will protect the letter from scratches as long as you're careful. Worked for me and haven't had any problems with any of my inserts.

This is why I come here. I was going to install mine this weekend and did not know/think of bending my V. You guys rock!
