Drivers side has a scratch from top to bottom on the outside. ALSO BOTH windows have a pennie sized circle on the inside where it has torn my window tint.
thanks for the input mas last car was a 85 coupe and it had scratches .u would think after building these cars for as long as they have, it would have been corrected by now.
Clean out the strip that rides on the side of the window.
The scratches are caused by sand and dirt that get caught in the outside strip that scratch the window. When the window is down all the way. Wrap a flathead screwdriver in a cloth. Put the cloth covered screwdriver in between the 2 strips. Clean it out, watch how dirty the cloth will get.
I've got an '02 vert as well. Yes, driver's side window is pretty scratched up. Couldn't figure that out. I don't know if the passenger's window is scratched or not - very seldom in it, particularly with the window up.

I've done that before, and the cloth comes out dirty, but it doesn't really explain why all C5's seem to have scratches in the same area. If it's the strips, I'll definitely have to be way more careful when I install plastic side windows.
Mine has it and 3 dealerships have denied warranty coverage without much investigation. One went so far as to say it was because "somebody had evidently 'slim-jimmed' the vehicle". Let us know how your trip to the dealership turns out.

Mine does not, I learned my lesson years ago, on my other cars. When I wash/wax or polish I do the strips. They probally get done once a week since new. It has been a habit for years since I found that they cause the scratchs.
This may sound nuts but here goes....
When I bought mine I had still had the factory warranty and I noticed the same scatches only on the pass. window and only on the inside.
One of the tech's at the dealership told me that it could be from dirt getting inside the weatherstriping after cruising with the windows down. When they are rolled up the sand/dirt gets scraped against the glass. Since they replaced the glass, everytime I get done cruising I run my finger between the stripping to clean it and so far no scratches.
IMHO, I think that the screws holding the stripping cause the scatches but from force of habit now, i still run my finger down the strip be4 I roll up the window.
