I hate stealerships, all they want to do is sell you their product and send you on your way.. god forbid you ever have a problem b/c it will take months to get solved and most of they time 99% they are not covered under warranty...
that is why i never buy extended warrenties if it comes with a free 1 year i got nothing to lose bu i would never pay for extended when they dont even warranty their stuff in the free grace period... damn those dealerships i mean stealerships
I noticed a "flabbly" type wrinkle on my drivers door that came out of nowhere... well, the car is way out of warranty & I have nothing to complain about... it should be the worst thing that ever happens to the vehicle! Go figure.
Here in CA, I have had great luck in small claims court!!! Won against Ford, Nissan and State Farm. Just make sure that you have all your ducks in a row and I always, just for fun, subpoenaed any and all records I could think of. (Ford paid me off one day after I subpoenaed their records on my top rubbing issue, Mustang GT in 2001)
Good luck and have fun, I always did!
Great idea! It will cost them more than the cost of the repairs to produce the records. I didn't realize that you could subpoena records in small claims court.
This is what I have done today I sent a letter to the owner of the dealership, they have been given one week to agree to make the repairs.
Filed a complaint with the GM/BBB Auto Line Program. This can take up to 40 days to resolve. In the State of Maine I can also (and will on Tuesday) file any legal action simultaneous. Any attorneys here see a class action lawsuit? I know this has happen to others not just Corvette owners. GM can push some around, but not me.
Thanks for all of the help and support guys.

Why does GM give Corvette owner's a hard time with replacing the seat leather that has nasty looking creases in it and the dye is coming off the steering wheel and the BIG one, with the top down it rubs on itself to the point that it has left two rub/worn marks and has worn away some of the stitching. A $58,000, hell a $20,000 car should not be doing this and with only 11,000 miles on it when this all started, what gives? I should not have to battle for what is clearly stated in the warranty manual as defective materials. The zone rep has told the dealer that they will not warranty any of those items. I called the GM customer service center today, they told me what the dealer and the rep say goes and can not and will not be over turned. I would have never guessed I would have to take GM to court and let a judge decide if they are not in keeping with there written warranty. Any help or advise would be appreciated. Thanks Guys.
Think you need a new dealer. I just had the cover replaced on the drivers seat of my mine... no charge no questions. When I showed it to my service writer... his first comment was "will get it on order and call you as soon as it comes in...".
It's bad enough we have to shop for the best price for the car now we have to shop for the right dealer to fix the thing. You pay big bucks for the car, you get a warranty with it, or do you? This is my 3rd vett all verts, It just might be the last.

Who is the defendant in small claims court... the dealer or the Ford/Nissan/??? company itself?
I just got a call from the owner of the dealership, sounds like the service manager might get his ars hole enlarged with his foot.
The owner said he will get on the phone with the rep on Tuesday
to find out why this is not being covered. He also stated he will work with me to get this taken care of. I will not be holding my breath, that's for sure.
Last week I filed a complaint with the GM/BBB Auto Line and today I got a call from GM they will investigate and get back to me in one week,
as they put it "make me an offer to settle" I told the her this is a all or nothing deal, I'm not negotiating on this. She said let me see what I find out first. I will see in a week, I bet it's the same old story.
Best of luck in court. Perhaps we now understand why GM is in the toilet; with the exception of the Corvette, which of their products is really new and their customer service stinks...always has and apparently always will.

Please post pictures! Those of us that drive coupes have no idea about the top wear issues. My '04 coupe definitely shows more wear on the driver's seat, but I thought that was to be expected. I'm curious as to the extent of the creases. Not questioning you, just wondering what to expect in a year or two.

I just got the call from GM and they told me these are all wear items and are not covered, like I said a week ago I knew this would be the answer. She said that the items are wear items because they get used and do wear out????
OK, I should never shift the car into drive/park?
I should never steer the car?
I should never put the top down?
And I should never sit in it?
Her reply was "I guess so"??????
What was this car built for? To look at, it was built to be driven. She said let’s just let the BBB Auto Line arbitrator settle this.
Thanks GM you suck!
If any one has had any of these items replace UNDER WARRANTY
could I please have a copy of the work order, this way I can show the judge that they have replaced these items before and to set precedents. Thanks guys

Typical GM. My C5 had a ripped seam on the seat when I bought it new. Stupid me thought I could get them to fix it. The sales manager (Hi Ken you bastard) gave his word he'd fix it. Since I bought it, I've personally visited each of the 27 Chevy dealers within 50 miles of my house about that and most of them about the column lock recall. Not a one would fix the seam or the column lock. I wish GM's worthless warranty was an option so we could get a discount when buying the car.

The column lock recall is just that, a recall and by law the dealer must
do the recall. I have been talking with my attorney and some of the partners of his firm, to see if they want to tackle a class action (long road)or if they will find someone else to partner it with. I have never been so serious about anything in my life as I am about this with GM.
