Headers have arrived and the install is about to start.
The instructions talk about raising the engine as far as it will go to slip them in from the top. It also mentions that it may be necessary to "pry" the engine to the side for the headers to drop in. Sounds like there is a learning curve and a few procedure quirks for this operation.
Anyone have any feedback on a garage install for Kook's in a C5, suggestions, helpful hints not in the company instructions, etc.
Not intimidated, just don't want to re-invent the wheel if you know what I mean.
It's retty much the same as other C5 header systems I've helped install. Tilting the engine with a jack is about the only different part of the procedure and that was easy. You just need to be careful with how far you tilt the motor so as not to damage the cowl. Here are a few shots of the install I helped a buddy with on his 2000 FRC.
estreeter, give me a call 860-989-8972 steve or send pm w/ ?'s, i installed these on a z06 in march, a bit more time consuming than d.techs, but worth the work
