Default Tint Removal

I got poped for my windows being to dark. I have to strip off the tint on the drives and passanger sides and prove to the court that they are not illegal. Any good suggestions on how to remove the tint...

Tks
Peace

Sorry I have no answer to your question, but I'm curious...Were you stopped specifically for that or was something else involved?

I was stopped just for not having a front plate in February...

Someone posted this a few weeks ago. Sounds silly but I did it and it worked GREAT. Spray the tint with water, take a black plastic trash bag and stick it to the wet tint. Put the car in the sun for approximately 3 hours, then remove the bag and the tint. The stuff just peels right off.

Nope, just the tint...

Scratch it to get it started. Then just peel it off. It will leave a little residue, but just clean it with windex. Every year I peel mine off my DD get inspected then take it to be put back on.

I retinted my '99 before I sold it and it peeled right off. Bought some adhesive remover at Home Depot and took the residue right off.

SunMasters in Dallas said it works even better if you use an ammonia based window cleaner (windex, etc.) The film comes off with the plastic. Watch the scratch suggestions or you'll break the defogger lines and that segment won't work.

Read his post he says the side windows. There are no defogger lines on these two windows.
