Default ** hot melted gum ! **

ok, how do i get the melted gum off my paint ? i tried to get it off as soon as i saw it but it just smears all over..i spent all morning cleaning the car. .i drove to the post office and came back to find gum on the trunk, rear tire and right fender area..

I use wd40 on the vet and MB to get stuff off. It also did a good job removing the letters from the bow of the boat. (those letters are really made to stick). Just scrape as much off as you can then use the wd40 and a soft cloth. Best of luck,, 99 Nassau Blue

Yeah, and I was going to offer him the use of either a die grinder or right angle grinder, either way, carbide burr, or 60 grit, it would have gotten rid of the gum!

For future reference, ice does work good, as was suggested, and for any residue, just use vegetable cooking oil, canola, mazola, corn oil, etc, does not matter.... its much less agressive to paint and wax than solvents, WD, or alcohol. ALso works great if your kids get gum in their hair!
