I just replaced the batteries in both of my remotes and did a keyfob relearn for both according to the 2000' manual.
Now, every time I am near the Vette the car horn honks whether I locked the doors to set the alarm or if I didn't set the alrm.
What's the deal with that? Everything still works as far as the alarm goes, it's just really annoying.
Sounds like you've got the passive entry activated. I don't know exactly how it works but if you check the tech tips or do a search you'll probably find info.
Other suggestion would be to check all the grounds.
