Man, what a Cruise In Had great weather all week, got to see some old friends and made some great new friends. Got to hangout with some of the CF legends - Y2Kvert4me, Zilla, Grumpy, MyBlueC5, England Green, jackdaroofer, Z06Jim, Iceburgh and so many others Left BG about 9:15 Sunday morning and headed home to VA via the southern route thru TN and NC.
Decided to do the Tail of the Dragon on the way home and had a blast
Then about 11 PM, about an hour from home, one of those recapped tire rejects from a tractor/trailer decided it liked my TS chin spoiler

Just Damn!! Gary, Came on here expecting to see some good news, and I do know you can fix it but that looks like a whole new piece is going be required. The truck drivers refer to those recaps as "gators" and I had just as soon hit a real gator as get clipped by one of those. We have got to go to the CI one of these years. We'll see you soon.
Awh..makes me sick as clean as your car is. I so wish I could have meet you and that car.
Well, look at it this way gives you a chance to come up with another "unique" mod.
Jon
of course it's after the fact, but in the future i'd highly recommend on long trips like that, go with a gm bra or something similar. i happened to slam into a leftover tire tread recently, and either it was just dumb luck or what (i dont' know), but the extra cushion/padding in the bra (hah, did i just say that?!?) kept the spoiler intact.
i've hit 5 gal paint buckets, tire treads, and all manner of mayhem here in the fine trash dumps called the 405 & 5 freeway. the front bra has saved my hide more than once! the protection is worth the slight decrease in smooth lines on my red car--but with your black car, it should be much less visible.
Wow Gary, sorry to see that! I know that had to hurt!
It was a pleasure to meet you and finally get to see your awesome vette up close and personal. It's defiantly at the top of my list!
Best of luck with the repairs.
