Altec Phantom Taillights... how to remove?

Altec Phantom Taillights... how to remove?
I have Altec Phantom on the tail lights. They have little black caps over the screws. I cannot for the life of me figure how to remove these without damaging something. I have to take a screw driver and pry under them... not good. They came on the car so I don't have directions. THANKS A BUNCH!

I have the lic plate frame and the only way I know of is to use a small bladed screwdriver or punch and gently pry on them. I've done it a couple times and haven't hurt them yet.
