I'm probably going to Ram air my new 02 vert

I think the newest/best is the VR-B2. Got mine from the LAPD for $325 shipped.

Yeh, it's not exactly "ram" air. Cold air, yes. And Vararam is the way to go. I got mine from LAPD - I think the only one they sell now is the VR-B2... A pain to install, but the GRIN factor is WAY up there!!

Then look no furter than the Vararam. Anything else is a compromise.

I would recommend the donaldson blackwing, which is about $230. This filter is very high quality and is a direct bolt on. Good improvement over stock. This is probably your best bet for everyday driving. If you drag race the car the vararam will yeild better performance gains, but the filter is cheap crap and should be replaced with something better such as a K&N air filter. Also, there was a case documented by A&A corvette about the vararam destroying an engine. Unless you really want to pull all of the gains out of your car go with a safer and comparable option such as the blackwing or haltech stinger.

Do you have a link?

When I put my Vararam in I had no confidence in the stock foam thingy they called an air-cleaner... I replaced it with a K&N and rtv'd the sucker in there.....

I'm taking my vert to corvettes of houston so installation isn't really a problem, heh.

I don't mind plunking a few hundred down to get the thing installed. Just trying to figure out which is the best.

Man I love this Vette. Already getting more dates

Guys how is the VR-1b compared to the vr-2b. Corvettes of houston carries the 1b, but is it worth the wait for the 2b ?
