Recently went up to N. Ga and parked in my daughters very steep driveway. Vehicle would not crank but most of the lights were ok. Vehicle had to be towed.
The dealersership checked everything for a electrical draw but found nothing. They charged the battery and it seems fine. Somehow I remember that the Vettes won't start or have problems on a steep incline. No it sounds strange but could use any members feedback.
hmmm...so you think the car got dizzy or something?
How old is the battery? Is it an old original Delco? Was/is the positive connection caroaded (sp?)? ...might be time to replace the battery and or connection.
This is the 2nd battery also a Delco about 8ms old. The connections are immaculate as you could eat off the engine. Somehow she would not start and I do remember about the incline and the Vettes not starting.

Hmmm...under the floor board on the passenger side where the inside fuses are, some time condensation from the A/C drain tub backs up and water gets in this area..check it...and most of all get rid of the Delco and get the Red Top Optima battery to be safe. My $0.02
1st I've heard of vette incline starting problems. The battery is not old obviously but is the car driven a lot...or does it just sit a lot allowing the battery to weaken? (would've been nice if you could've put a battery charger on it in your daughter's driveway...or tested it with another battery to rule out the battery)
I ditched my Delco over the winter...it started fine and looked perfectly clean (and you could eat off of my engine compartment too) but when I removed it I could see that there was corrosion under the battery that had run down from the positive terminal. ( I put in an Optima Red Top and stuck the Delco in my beater Saturn ).
I know I keep pointing back to the battery, but in my experience starting problems are usually the battery or the connection. This past winter I had to replace the battery and connections in my daughter's '97 Camry (freakin' coldest night of the year I bet)...all has been fine since. My son called me up at work a week ago and said that his '92 Mustang 5.0 wouldn't start...connections required MUCH cleaning and the battery wouldn't take a charge - put in a DieHard and he's good to go.
BTW - I have a sloped driveway...but it's not terribly steep.
All around seems to be fine I will check for possible condensation. Also, I should have brought my charger as you said and if there is another problem the OPTIMA is going in. Tks Guys
hmmm...every other day...8 month old battery...perhaps there is something to the condensation in the fuse area idea. I don't run my AC too often up here...and when I do I turn off the AC but keep the fan on high for a mile or so before I reach my destination to reduce condensation. - some people reported a smell from AC condensation building up in the system -
I notice you and I signed on to this forum around the same time. It's a great place to get help (although I haven't been much) and a great place to get ideas on how to spend more money.
