I like the fact that we're continuing on a tradition that's been on going for more than 50 years now.
The Corvette owner is definetely a special breed, try to put a bunch of mustang owners together for more than a few hours without inspiring a race, fight, or argument over who's faster.
I've had my Vette just over 3 weeks now. Due to circumstances (moving, 2-car garage, etc.), I don't drive it very much. But each and everytime I've passed another Vette on the road I get a wave. My wife looks over at me and says "what's with you guys, and these waves?" I just tell her to shut up and go watch Oprah or something constuctive like that
Seen a lot of posts in this forum about the wave being dead. From what I can tell, it's alive and well out here!
I love this about the corvette owner. I think this is another reason why I enjoy owning a corvette over everything else. How many mustang owners through waves at one another? What about the F-body brothers? The imports are to busy trying to keep up, but us vette owners...We always throw a wave, find a reason to talk to one another and enjoy our coversation and cars.
Today, a 80s model C4 was behind me and I waved, we waved back and then pulled up next to me to make sure I saw his wave. I love this about our elite group...we share each others love for one another's corvette!

Getting a wave back is a tradition - unfortunately, yesterday on my way back from Kansas City I was only 1 for 4 in the wave return department. Guess the other drivers were just lost in their own little world. Not going to stop me from waving though.
I was in Ocean City, Md. a few weeks ago for the annual hot rod cruise. There were thousands of great American hot rods and muscle cars for the weekend long event. (no rice). I pulled up near a Zo6 on the extremely crowded road and expecting a wave and a smile, I got a thumbs down from two young kids. I was a little taken back, the driver then sped off (going approx. 20 ft.) until he had to slam on his brakes due to the bumper to bumper traffic. As I pulled next to him again I uttured a few choice words and gave him my own hand gesture. He would not look at me the rest of the way down Coastal Hwy. I guess the friendly brotherhood we share is wasted on todays youth.
Happy to report there were plenty of other, more mature Corvette owners there who kept the wave alive!
Just took the Vette to Vegas last weekend. Saw a lot of C5's and one C6 on the hwy. 100% wave city. I do the little subtile 'half a hand flip up from the steering wheel' wave. Cause when I'm rolling the Vette I'm in my own little cool world
BTW what other automobile model has been built for this many years?
im going to regeratate with all this wave stuff.........just drive it
There's always one in every wave thread. I guess there are so few Vettes in Big Sky country that you get out of the habit, plus I thought the folks there were a lot friendlier.
I was 4 for 4 last night. Waved at a chick drivin a C3. She acknowledged my wave with a slight wave and a head nod. Then out of no where, she stood up and ripped her shirt off! j/k It's good to dream sometimes!
DAMN! What a great idea! Let's start that as a greeting!
