flush mounted taillights

Default flush mounted taillights

i just flush mounted my taillights with the kit from Zip prouducts.
does not centered any more, and i can see the weather-strips.
has anyone had this problem? can i just remove the weather- strips?
any one got pics so i can compare? thanks

I flush mounted mine, didn't like the looks of the weatherstriping so I removed it. I use a compressor to blow out the water after washing. I plan on drilling a hole at the bottom of the light well, but haven't yet. I will try to post a picture of it when I get home. I think it looks better without the weatherstriping.

This is the best photo I've got of mine.



I put the weatherstripping as far to the rear as I could and then couldn't see it.

Same story, so I removed the weather stripping (looks pretty cheap and tacky) and have had no problems. I don't worry to much about the water as the tail light units are sealed and what's to corrode? Just dry it after washing.

You can see mine, but you have to look for it. Since it's not that noticable, I don't mind it.

I did the flush mount through a different vendor. I like the look but would like them pushed out further (they're not really "flush").

Did it, Didn`t like the "Tacky" weather strip showing so I went back to stock. That`s one Mod that needs "Modifying" before I try it again!
