I see that people seem to not like GF Run flats very much because of the noise that happens as they get older. I've never had them on my 2 other vettes because they were older and weren't offered. All that being said are they worth dealing with even with the extra noise?

No spare in the car. I'll put up w/ a little noise because of that alone!
Lots of info on this forum about different brands of run-flats. Also check out Tire Rack, one of the forum vendors. They have a good info page about these tires.

And you will lose another couple of inches in ground clearance with a flat making it difficult/impossible to get a jack and puck underneath and probably impossible to get onto a flatbed. As long as you have a slow leak to pump the tire back up to raise the ground clearance you'll be OK, otherwise you are in trouble, especially if your car is lowered.
Screw the run flats. I carry a plug repair kit and a small compresor.
The one time I did have a nail in the tire. The first tire shop I went to (Sat afternoon). First thing they said (they saw me drive up) was no one there could pull a runflat off. Come back on Monday. Lucky for me, I did not have runcraps on the car. Fixed and out of there in 30 min.
And no, there tire never went flat, only down to 18 psi.
You do know that fix-a-flat will screw up your pressure sensors, don't you?
Yup, that "goop" fix a flat stuff will ruin a TPS. You have to use a plug it kit and AAA. The plug it kit only lasts long enough to get your vehicle to a repair shop.

I got rid of the run flats. We should not have to suffer with stiff/noisy/ tires because GM decided not to fit our cars with a spare tire. I got rid of them and put together a kit. A compressor, plug kit, small jack, and a ratchet(wheel removal). All this fits nicely in the storage compartments.
I've had 2 C5's and switched to non-runflats on both. Never any concern whatsoever of a flat tire. I've never in my life had one on any car (watch: I'll get one now). The cost of runflats helped sway my decision to get away from them.
