I am a reserved 24 year old, behind the wheel of my '01 MY vert I feel like a 16 year old kid
You guys with more...ahem...life experience...you are as young as you feel...remember that song by Old Blue Eyes...Young at Heart, that is what it is all about.
I am 58 years young, but it seems most of yous guys are around thirty ish. When I nail it I feel like a kid with that smile. I just installed the Halltech Trap and wow, the rear wants to really break loose now, and the front end twists a little from the torque. I'm happy!
What the heck makes you think you're in the minority? The median age for Corvette owners is about 51 as I recall. I may be a bit younger than you but at almost 54, I don't think I'm too far from your peer group and there are a bunch of us old farts (including quite a few older than you) here on the board.
Age truly is a state of mind. THe 50's are the new 30's so they say. Drive it and enjoy it. Don't worry about it until your knees or back gives out where you can't get in or out of your Vette
Funny you should mention that. Last November, I had back surgery to fix two severely messed up discs pressing against the sciatic. Needed an 8.5" slice to get them corrected.
The only vehicle I could ride in comfortably for months after the surgery, was the Vette. The double, adjustable lumbar support was my saving grace.

Ya I know, I also had back sugery, and I never have back ackes in this car. However sure wish it had heated seats. Oh, I make a funny noise when I get out of the car

I know what you mean, I'm 63 and I am glad the car is low. It makes it easier to crawl out of.....not as far to fall when my knees give out.
I'm 56 and love to make the Borlas bark too.
It's in my blood - if I get deaf in later life I'll just run open headers
Its just music man! A man after my own heart. I feel the same. Gives me something to think about when I am working hard. Some how its not so bad. Bark Bark Baaaaaaaark!
You are old but, hehee, this has got to be the best part of life so far! No doubt about it!
Love those SC discounts. And when young'ns say "Sir." And when the young grocery baggers wanna' help me with my bags, haha! It sure is a long walk for them when you park that Corvette way at the far edge of the parking lot.
Looking forward to tomorrow! My problem is remembering which toy I drove/rode yesterday!
I'm 57, a few pounds overweight, balding head, and have had my C5 for almost a year now.
I often wonder what the 'kids' think when they pull up next to you at a light in the ricers or the stangs that Daddy bought for them.
I rarely will spank them off the light, but I will occasionally crack open the electric cutouts, give it a good ole V-8 REV, smile and watch them blast off when the light turns green while I just drive like everyone else in the crowd.
Do they laugh at us and think we're just old farts with a lot of $$$$....
Maybe wearing by ball cap backwards and some sunglasses would help, or just teach them a lesson for old fashion respect for thier elders?
