When I am driving slow I hear a repetitive clicking sound from the front left tire. It's also a little louder when I turn left. What could be causing this? I did check for nails/rocks in the tire and found nothing. Thanks.
What should I look for with the brakes? Just the shim? I changed pads on my 94 TA many times, these look similar...just 2 piston right? What else brake related would it be other than a shim that would click? Thanks.
I dont know about stock wheels but, iv had the tabs on the center (chrome z06 replicas) caps break off and rattle around inside the cap. It drove me nutz till I finally had the entire wheel off bouncing it in anger only hearing the noise again.
had this happen to me once--turned out to be weight tape! simple! check your weights, if they're stick on then it's something else but if they're stick + tape, the edge of the tape may catch the caliper.
Check your center caps. Mine were a very loose fit, I used some high temp weather stripping on the edges of the caps to get them to fit better. No more rattle.
Well, after further inspection it's the rear drivers side tire. I haven't taken it off yet but have more info on the "click" If I just sit and switch between drive and reverse and barely move the car, I hear the click. I move maybe 3 inches after switching into to gear and I hear 1-2 clicks. If I roll it clicks a lot at slow speeds randomly. It does this with the brakes engaged and not engaged. Any other ideas for me to look at? Thanks.
OK, just took off the center cap and torqued the lugs. Still makes the sound. I slightly loosened the lugs just to test and it still clicked/popped. I actually can make it click without even starting the car, if I just rock the car back and forth slightly it will make the sound. It sounds like it is coming from the outside area around the rim, not anything deeper like the differential. Upon rocking the car I can also hear the rear passenger tire making the same popping noise, just not as loud as the driver side. Any thoughts? Repetitively pops when putting into gear, and when traveling slow. Thanks.
