Default Act Handling Warming Up

Just had that message appeared on my D.I.C
What the heck does that mean???
It was on the whole time in to work, shut the car off for a few min, and did not show up again.

Mine recently started doing that intermittently too.....except mine takes about 10 minutes to go away when it does.

I was told it's "normal" if it only does it for a few seconds....but if it stays on longer it's an indication that your Steering Position Sensor is going out.....and that's a beatch to replace......column has to come out. Of course.....check around more....I don't know for sure first hand......but that is what I was told when describing my problem over the phone to my "local expert".......

That is a common occurance. Check for current codes before doing anything else and post them here so we can see if there's an ongoing problem.

One of the reasons this message can appear is that the AH system recalibrates when you start the car. The car needs to go in a straight line for a certain distance when you first start and may not calibrate properly if you first take off with the wheels turned.

Mine does the same thing, depending on the ambient temperature - I looked it up in my owner's manual, and it said that it's normal in cooler temps. After a few minutes, it'll display "warm up complete"

Hey Patches.....

Mine has no codes (other than the occasional obligatory 02 codes from my headers.... ) and just started this a couple of weeks ago....

Never did it for the first year I had the car.....now all of a sudden it does it more often than not.....takes about 10 minutes until I get "warmup complete".

Any ideas? Is the Steering Position Sensor like I posted above a valid guess? Something else?
