My 99's glove box will not open. When you pull the latch it clicks and opens about 1/4" inch and the light comes on. It will not release the rest of the way. How can I get it open to repair the latch. It is unlocked.

1. Roll the car out of your driveway
2. Do a couple of quick zig zags and SLOW sudden stops (Traffic conditions permitting)
3. Check to see whether whatever is hanging up the door has been dislodged.
4. Repeat #2 if necessary.

Don't know if this will work, but it sure sounds like fun.
I hope it does work for you. If you need to fix/replace the latch you'll need to open and possibly pull the box. There are 2 10mm bolts that have to be accessed along with 4 or 5 7mm screws that attach it to the dash. Box has to be open to access. Good luck.

Mine did same thing. Seems my owner's mannual package was too big for the box and was jaming it. Once I forced it open, I put the mannual in the back and have no more problems.
