Guys, need a suggestion... I wash my car (Black) with normal Z7. I always do 1 or 2 coats of Z6 after that. Usually I put the Z5 on (hoping it helps darken the Black). It goes on easy. After Z5, I always use Z6. (I use Z6 very frequently, cuz it goes on and comes off very easily) But I always feel dreadful putting on Z2 showcar polish. I know its supposed to be the best Zaino product. But its too thick, and sticky... When I put on the Z2, it creates streaks..cuz its too sticky to spread. My arms get tired trying to spread it, and of course I have to then use more polish.
I've read threads where members say, it goes on easy, comes off easy. But I feel like I need to add some kind of thinner to it. What am I doing wrong? (No complaints with Z5). Z2 just STICKS, and its like trying to spread sticky, thick glue.... Plz HELPpppp....
O.K. This is a BUT.....I'm a clean freak. Picked up NXT, put a quick coat on the hood. I like it! I have used Zaino for a few years now on every thing I own. EXTREMELY impressed with the NXT. Easy on, easy off....amazing shine. Readily available for a good price. Zaino lovers....Don't slam me!
Many of us who own black Vettes prefer using Z5 over Z2. I've owned my '99 black coupe for six years, and it is my DD. I've used both Z2 and Z5 with ZFX, and IMHO, Z5 works and looks better on my C5. I use Z6 in between coats of Z5, and always detail my car with it after washing.
I might be crazy, but i use them all, all their products, advice here is good, light coats is key. Their glass cleaner is awesome as is the leather in a bottle So when you get tired of polishing off that Z2, move to the glass and seats
You've read it above but it absolutely bears repeating: light coats is key!!
I make one ounce (1/2 of the small bottle provided with the kit) of either Z2 or Z5 and add the ZFX accelerator. I get 2 complete coats and apply at least one extra coat to both the rear deck and hood (it's a Vert). Frequently, I have some left over. I use Z6 (or the new Z8 -- just got that!) in between coats. As a shortcut, I do not buff off the Z2/Z5 before applying the Z6/Z8 -- I considered it a wasted step.
Here's some other things I do:
I dry (in my clothes dryer) the microfiber towels before using them. That removes all the moisture they might have absorbed in storage.
I slightly moisten the applicator with water and/or Z6/Z8. Reduces the friction with the car and assists in smoothly applying the polish.
The results on my MY Vert have been nothing short of AMAZING every time I use Zaino.
Just my $.02 worth.

I think I heard about these tricks . Wow what a concept.

Yeah, NXT is good. But on a DD, it lasts about a week. I have used NXT and put a good coat of wax on after, then it will last awhile. If all I used was NXT, It would be a once a week thing.

The way I apply it is to put a dab about the size of a dime on my applicator and then smooth it out with my finger, then apply it to the surface of the car.
I'll try dampening the cheese cloth with Z6 (my applictor) before applying Z2 on it..... and then apply it to the car. I know you all stressed on applying very thin coats. But thats exactly what my problem has been. I WON'T spread, instead it is sooo sticky and gooey like glue, and I cant spread it. It creates long streaks at the time of application. But I'll try the dampening cloth trick tomorrow.... The kit is 4 months new, and has been kept in the garage. So my Z2 is not really old. Hopefully I'll enjoy the Z2 tomorrow.... Will let you all know my results... Thanks...
