Default Wish me luck.

I'm heading this weekend to buy my z06. I've had c3's and c4's before but never had the chance to get into the c5. Any pointers would be helpful.

You will love it. The prices have been from 30-38k for a 02 or newer with low miles. I paid $32,500 for 02 EB ZO6 with 9,000 miles in perfect condition from a dealor. I would recomend getting as new as possible.

Good luck!!!

I love my '03! I had a '00 FRC before and couldn't believe the difference. I've had a couple of C3s and a C4 before it.

No real pointers...finding one with the warranty still intact is the best way to go. If money's not too tight an extended one would give you a little more cofidence.

I've started having some intermittent problems with reverse lock-out but it doesn't seem to be very common. Take a close look at the rear diff for leakage there seems to be some problems there. Also make sure that the steering column lock mod has been done or get it done quickly. There is a recall on that one.

Check it out for a smooth (somewhat) shifting transmission and postive clutch engagement. Smoked clutchs and bent shift forks are some problems areas to be aware of. Check out the suspension bushings for wear (I'm replacing the control arms on my car this weekend). Check the PS pump and steering rack for leaks. An OBD2 tool to pull the history log of trouble codes (if any). Check the drivers seat for the dreaded "seat rock". The seat sliders are beginning to rock on my car.

***Put a water hose around the doors, rear glass and front glass. My car leaked like a sieve. Took 4 trips to the dealer to fix, and it still leaks slightly. *********

You'll love the power when you test drive it........... Have fun!!
